WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ONE WOMAN IS PUSHED TOO FAR?

by Oscar Crawford

“And I looked and looked at her and knew as clearly as I know I am to die, that I loved her more than anything I had ever seen or imagined on Earth, or hoped for anywhere else.” ~Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

No one gave thought to the coming of one woman who would deny and defy the gods and men. When the gods hunger for the women of Earth, is it any wonder that men sometimes lose their minds. Whether the Sons of God of the Book of the beginnings, the gods of the Greek Pantheon, or the mere mortal men of the white collar, the blue collar or no collar at all; the male predator obsession to take women as prey is as constant as the rising and setting of the sun.

The Book of the Beginnings, Chapter 6 verses 2 and 4 say, “And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”

The story of the Greek God Apollo, the son of Zeus, born among the first of the Olympians, describes Apollo as the god of the Sun, of music, of truth and prophecy, healing, the light, plague, and poetry.  The gods picked among Earth women to their delight as if picking from a cluster of grapes.

Mere mortal men of Earth lived as if the gods of the Earth. From their notions of superiority bestowed upon them by God and the god, from the eras before literacy, civilization, spirituality and justice; men assumed the privilege of the gods to do with women as they pleased. No one gave thought to the coming of one woman who would deny and defy the gods and men.

The ancient strategy of men like the gods has been the language of love to take women by force. The biggest, the most powerful, the strongest, the richest, or the smartest took the prizes among the beautiful women to make themselves look good and additionally many ordinary women to bear them hordes of children.

Genghis Khan http://bit.ly/1NkP6Nm
Temujin, an ancient Asian feudal lord left behind something more powerful than his sword. He lives as the primo genitor of more than half the population of the people of Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe and beyond. All bear his genetic markers. As Temujin conquered people and lands, he and his sons initiated the extension of their blood line through the women of the conquered. Temujin’s exalted title was Genghis Khan.

The Genghis Khan approach to controlling population growth with vested interest would become the strategy of ancient kings of the lands before the coming of Europe. These in the quest for power exercised the right of the first night. Every marriage taking place in their lands, kings took privilege to spend the first night with the new bride, growing the kingdoms one woman one child at a time.

From the prehistoric to the present, the gods or men have assumed power over women to do with them as they please. As the Book of the Beginnings described how the extra – terrestrial sons of God saw the beauty of Earth women and hungered to consume them, consume them they did with their off world sexual lust and desires. From these matings, hybrid half breed human ancestors were born. During these times, none considered the coming of one woman who would deny and defy the gods and men.

When Apollo, God of the Sun and Greek Pantheon, son of Zeus and Leta, set his sights on the acquisition of a human woman of the forest named Daphne, he discovered himself in a moment of disbelief. Stooping to the level of many power men who will go to any length to get what they want, Apollo goes slumming to satisfy his heavenly sexual impulse through the taking of an Earth woman.

This is not unlike the slave owners influencing politics to declare African slaves in America less than human while using slave women for sex with impunity for more than half a millennia. From these forced matings, hybrid half breed human ancestors were born.

A John Water Work from 1908
As Apollo watched the freedom of Daphne enjoy her solitude in the forest, his notion of love and lusting sexual hunger for her grew until he could contain it no more. He came for her in the pageantry of a god visiting a peasant woman.

When they met for the first time, Apollo declared heaven had smiled on her and he was here to rescue her from her solitude. He had chosen her to be his woman, describing what a great deal she was getting and how lucky she was to be chosen.

Daphne’s simple response was, “No, thank you.”

With response given, she left. Apollo pursued.

Taunted from the heavenly community, he heard the voices of power say, “We know know you are not going to let a little Earth bitch disrespect you like that.”

Angered, Apollo continues to pursue Daphne. When he finds her again he appeals to her logically saying, “You obviously don’t get it. I am a God who will have you. You do not get a choice to tell me no.”

“Is that the way it is where you live? You do not offer the gift of respect. You just come to take me whether I am interested or not. Do you actually believe you have the right to take what you want?” She asked.

With her words spoken, she takes flight through the forest. Apollo is enraged. No mortal defies a god. Who does she think she is?

Apollo chases Daphne. At the moment, he is assured he will capture her and force her into submission to take what he wants, stays just ahead of him.

Inches from catching her, Daphne exercises her power to deny and defy a God leaving him alone to wallow in his tantrum. She leaps into the air and transforms into a tree.

The Moral of the Story: When women have been pushed too far, the narrative of boys will be boys; whether the Sons of God, Greek Gods or mortal men doing with women as they please, will end.
